13th of June
Let’s combine hiking with wine tasting! We will go to Aín to hike along Barranco de Caritat and up to the castle of Beniali. After the hike we will visit a small local winery – El Celler de la Ibola, and have a cata there.
Check out the menu here:

We’ll meet in Valencia, in front of Mestalla stadium (the parking lot on av. Aragón) and drive to Aín. Once there, we’ll have a coffee on a terrace and start the hike.
The route begins at the Calvary, with an 18th century shrine, and passes through the Caritat ravine. We will make our way along the GR-36 trail and pass by some centenary trees. On the way back we will also visit the castle of Aín (or Benialí). We will also make a stop here to rest and have some snacks/lunch. The hike finishes right in the winery, just outside the village. We will sit on the terrace and you will have a choice of beverages/snacks (see menu above). After the winery visit we will return to Valencia.
El Celler de la Ibola
The winery is run by a young couple whose objective is to combat the depopulation of the municipality of Ain, located in the heart of the Sierra Espadán. The project focuses on a small winery where wines with native grape varieties are carefully handcrafted, recovering the winemaking traditions of their grandparents in the town of Aín.
They also strive to keep the fields clean and cultivated, taking advantage of the raw material for the production of native products such as jams, oils, preserves and honey.
