Moraira Cliff Route

5th of March

A breathtaking trail at the foot of the impressive rocky walls that shape the coastline of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. This simple lineal hiking route takes us from the touristy Moraig cove to the inaccessible and wild Llebeig cove. Along the way we will enjoy some amazing views and a couple of surprises.

Moraig Cove

Traveling to the south of Valencia (or to the north of the province of Alicante, depending on how you look at it) you can find one of the most beautiful corners on Valencian coast. The Moraig cove is an enclave in which nature is the sole protagonist. Yes, it is very famous and is taking over the Instagram galleries during summer, but there is no great architect behind this gem.
Cala del Moraig is located in Benitatxell, right between Xàbia and Moraira, and consists of two parts: the beach itself and Cova dels Arcs, possibly its most photographed spot. It is a perfect place to spend a summer morning due to its excellent diving conditions and the rocky area.

Llebeig Cove

This cove, formed by the mouth of the ravine of the Widow (barranc de la Viuda), is located between the municipalities of Teulada-Moraira and El Poble Nou de Benitachell, and has no road access. It can only be accessed by boat or on foot, following the course of the ravine from Teulada-Moraira or the path that runs along the cliff (Cliffs Route or Ruta de los Acantilados) from El Poble Nou de Benitachell. Both paths are part of the SL-CV 50 trail. The old fishermen houses surround the bay a few meters from the shore and at the left end of the cove you can see the point of L’Alderà, located at the very base of Morro del Bou.
