13th of March
Let’s go to Chera to visit the waterfall and caves of Garita – the most attractive natural spot in Chera. We will also pass by les Dolomies – the dolomite formations, all within the Chera-Sot de Chera geological park.
You can check out the report of our last year’s hike here: The Waterfall and Caves of the Garita – Valencia Mountain Enthusiasts
We will meet in Valencia, in front of Mestalla stadium and drive to Chera. We will have a coffee on a terrace in the middle of town and start the hike. After strolling through the town we will start the ascent. It begins gently, getting a bit steeper later on as we approach les Dolomies and it’s curious peak. We’ll make a stop here to rest and take some photos and then continue our way around these rock formations. A gentle descent, followed by a flatter trail and we will get to the waterfall and caves. Here we will make a longer stop to fully explore the natural site, as well as have lunch. The way back will take us through almond groves, which are still in bloom. This will add scenic value to the hike, as we return to Chera. We will have a drink on a terrace after the hike and then go back to Valencia.
