23-24 de Junio
Let’s spend the night of San Juan camping next to Emblase de Buseo in Chera. There are several places worth visiting next to the camping area and the waters of the reservoir are warm enough for swimming already.
Recreation and camping area
On the banks of the reservoir there are camping and recreational areas covered with pine forests, which are very attractive due to their location next to the water, an idyllic place for appreciation of natural values.
Embalse de Buseo
The Buseo reservoir is a beautiful pool reminiscent of the Swiss landscapes, which was formed by raising a 40 m-high dam in the bed of the Reatillo River, at the entrance of the narrow Tormagal Gorge.
It is the oldest reservoir in the Turia basin and since its commissioning was the largest in the Valencian Community, until in 1925 the works on María Cristina reservoir in Castellón were completed. But it retained the first place in the province of Valencia until 1952, the date on which the Benagéber reservoir was built, and its hydraulic utility was later to be merely touristic.
The dam, built by ashlar masonry between 1903 and 1915, can store 7.5 cubic hectometres of water, an amount that allowed watering the entire Valencian garden, at least two and a half times per year.
Places of Interest
El Chorrero and the Cuevas de la Garita is a magical place, the most beautiful one in Chera. It is a picturesque place worth visiting, located inside the Chera-Sot de Chera Natural Park, a place that is inside the declared Geological Park that needs a lot of care and attention.

El Barranco de la Hoz
Next to the Embalse de Buseo de Chera and very close to the camping area, there is a natural wonder – the Barranco de la Hoz de Chera. It is especially attractive when there is rain and enough flow.
The waterfall, pools and unique rocks that form the Hoz ravine, which provides flow to the Reatillo River, the main tributary of Turia by its right bank and subjected to the Mediterranean pluvial regime with rapid and violent floods caused by torrential rains, which alternate with strong drainages that dry out the channel, are spectacular to witness at any time of the year.
The town of Chera has a great bakery (which can suit all our needs), several bars and a local supermarket and is located only 4km from the camping area. Therefore we will have things available if necessary.
