The Two Waterfall Weekend

August 31 – September 1

Let’s visit the waterfalls located at both sides of the border between Valencia and Aragón – Cascada del Arquero in Puertomingalvo and Río Carbo waterfall in Villahermosa del Río. We will spend the night in a rural house in the nature, next to the river – Masía Roncales.

Saturday, August 31

Cascada del Arquero

The cascade of the archer – a magical place, hidden, as if it were a treasure, presiding over the rain that causes the collision of water with a rocky ledge. The name – archer (arquero) comes from the rainbow that at certain moments can be seen between the drops of water.

Puertomingalvo is a town and municipality located in the Cultural Park of Maestrazgo northeast of the region of Gúdar-Javalambre, in the province of Teruel in Aragon, Spain. Surrounded by an incredible natural environment typical of the Serrania del Maestrazgo. It was declared a Historic-Artistic and Cultural Heritage Site in 2009 and is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

Accomodation – Masía Roncales

As the owners tell us:
In the heart of Penyagolosa, in an almost virgin enclave of great beauty, Masia Roncales is a traditional construction, rehabilitated and perfectly integrated into the environment where we have created a rustic, simple and sustainable space for active tourism or simply for rest and walks, enjoying the old paths, the river, the waterfalls, the silence. All this promotes a conscious and respectful approach to nature.

We have a double room booked plus more beds in a shared dormitory with dinner and breakfast included. This way we won’t have to worry about food, while also having the start of Sunday’s route is at our doorstep.

Sunday, September 1

La cascada del Carbo

In the morning we’ll hike to the waterfall, which also has a small natural pool, giving us the opportunity to bathe in it. After the hike we can visit Villahermos and also have lunch in some place along our route back to Valencia.
