A journey to the lands of Gúdar-Javalambre (Teruel) and a scenic hike through the landscapes of Nogueruelas. This is what awaits you on a Christmas special hike!
The route is simple, without major elevation gain and it is highly recommended to bring lunch or a snack, to enjoy it quietly in the beautiful surroundings of the reservoir. It is not uncommon to see ibex and numerous vultures, which nest on the rock walls that surround the reservoir.
During the tour we can enjoy cobblestone paths, dry stone walls and several corrals (Gil’s or Óscar’s) and mases (Mas de Óscar and Mas Rioquiles). The arrival at the reservoir viewpoint will impress you with its beauty, and it is well worth taking a walk through its surroundings to enjoy the beautiful views that we can contemplate from different angles. After the photo session, rest and freshening up a bit, we will return to Nogueruelas along a different trail.
Nogueruelas
This is municipality of beautiful landscapes, with several monumental buildings such as the Town Hall, the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and traditional buildings such as several hermitages. It is completed with a look into the culture that Nogueruelas offers – an Ethnological Museum.
People of this town made an effort to create a network of signposted trails in a circular direction: trails that run through unmatched places, of great beauty, which start and end in the town itself and which allow the hiker to spend the night in the same place if you want to get to know the surroundings in depth or simply do some sports.
Difficulty: medium (12km with 300m elevation gain)
Technical level: medium/low (mostly easy trails)
Meeting point: Mestalla, parking lot on av. Aragón, 9:30 (return to Valencia ~18:30)
Price: 32 euros (28 euros signing up before Friday, 23.12) / 12 euros coming to Nogueruelas.
