20th of January
This time we are going to Sant Mateu to hike through the interior and surroundings of the Racó del Frare Natural Reserve. The route stands out for its landscape and environmental value.
The trail runs through the northwest area of the municipality of Sant Mateu. This is where Racó del Frare natural area is located. It crosses important cattle trails between fields of almond trees and centuries-old olive trees (some examples are part of the route of Millenary olive trees). The difference in altitude allows to observe the varied vegetation with different options, since this circular path has two variants plus a derivation to complement the excursion to everyone’s taste. In short, a magnificent opportunity to explore a territory with typical examples of Mediterranean flora and fauna far from roads and inhabited areas.
