Let’s go to Navajas to do an easy loop along the vía verde Ojos Negros, passing by the Regajo reservoir, and finish at the famous Salto de la Novia waterfall.


The hike to Salto de la Novia in Navajas is a picturesque journey that combines stunning natural landmarks and scenic water views, making it a popular route in the province of Castellón. Starting in the town of Navajas, hikers head toward the Regajo reservoir, a serene and expansive body of water surrounded by rolling hills and lush vegetation. The reservoir is a great spot to take a break, enjoy a picnic, or simply relax by the water’s edge, appreciating the tranquility and natural beauty of the area. The trail from here leads hikers through charming rural landscapes, providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Continuing along the path, hikers arrive at Salto de la Novia, a spectacular 60-meter waterfall with a legendary history. According to local folklore, the waterfall’s name—meaning “Bride’s Leap”—comes from an old tale about a tragic leap made by a bride-to-be. Today, the waterfall cascades dramatically over the rocky cliff into the crystal-clear river below, creating a mesmerizing and photogenic sight. The spray from the falls refreshes visitors, and on warm days, the area becomes a natural oasis for those seeking a cool respite. The hike to Salto de la Novia offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural lore, making it a rewarding destination for outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
