Cañón del Río Alcalá
Beautiful route that runs through the Alcalá River Canyon with its crystal clear waters, between the towns of Cabra de Mora and Alcalá de la Selva. Along the route, we can enjoy large areas of woodland (wild pines and larches, coexisting with junipers and a few specimens of poplars and holm oaks). If we’re lucky, it’s also possible to spot an otter, like the one we were able to photograph (see link below).
The trail does not pose major difficulties, although it should be noted that during the rainy season or when the river is flowing heavily, we may need to take off our shoes or wear footwear that allows us to cross the river without complications. The views from the Mirador del Castillo, next to an abandoned farmhouse, are worth enjoying leisurely and make for a good spot to recharge.

Alto del Hornillo
“High altitude route” that starts from the Church Square in Valdelinares (1692 meters above sea level) and takes us to Alto del Hornillo, the highest point of the trail (2002 meters above sea level according to the inscription at the summit).
For the most part of the journey, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Sierra de Gúdar, the municipalities of Valdelinares and Mosqueruela, the Valdelinares ski resort, and the Maestrazgo area.
The route is a circular one, with a distance of 8.6 km and quite easy to follow. The only thing to keep in mind is that, until Alto del Hornillo, the trail goes uphill most of the time, but it can be comfortably completed without any issues.
