Cantavieja

Cantavieja, the center of the Maestrazgo, a frontier land located on a limestone rock at an altitude of 1300m that has marked its evolution and its history. The secrets and wealth of a rich and troubled past, where Templars, San Juanistas, and Carlistas, among others, have left their mark and their memories in the form of buildings, stories, gastronomy, roads and paths.

The reflection of what has been lived can be appreciated when walking through its streets, from the time of Amílcar Barca, to the most recent of the characters in his story “El Tigre del Maestrazgo” Ramón Cabrera. In the Museum of the Carlist Wars you can learn about the history of this man and the battles that were fought from here.
Vilafranca del Cid

Villafranca del Cid is a beautiful part of Alt Maestrat in the province of Castellón. Steeped in century-old history, the town sits in a landscape defined by artisans’ work. As soon as you arrive, you will find yourself falling in love with this destination. So what are all the things you can see and do here?
Vilafranca is considered to be one of the areas with the greatest wealth of fauna in the Valencian Community. The abundant presence of birds of prey and mammals classified as endangered or highly vulnerable, together with an enormous diversity of small birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, demonstrates the importance of the variety of habitats that are represented in this area and the good state of conservation in which they are found.
