The king of Valencian coast summits – el Mondúver, at 843 meters above sea level, gives you stunning views. This time we are starting from Xeresa and going all the way up along the Eastern side.
We’ll meet in Valencia in the parking lot on av. Aragón in front of Mestalla stadium and drive to Xeresa. We’ll stop here for a coffee on a terrace and start the hike after that.
The route starts gently with a flat section going out of Xeresa. Soon we’ll get to the slopes of Mondúer range and start ascending. In the middle of the ascent we’ll pass by Peña Negra peak. Here the route gets steeper, with some scrambling parts (there are ropes to facilitate that). Eventually, we’ll reach the summit to get amazing 360 views of the whole surrounding area, from the Mediterranean on one side, and the valleys around Xativa on the other. We will also stop for lunch here. The descent is on a different side, still on quite rocky trails.
