The majestic Mondúver, towering at 843 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Valencian coast. This time the trail will take us up from Xeraco along the impressive Eastern slope to reach the summit.
We’ll meet in Valencia in the parking lot on av. Aragón in front of Mestalla stadium and drive to Xeraco. Our first stop will be at a terrace in Xeraco to enjoy an energizing coffee, after which we will commence our hike.
The journey starts with a leisurely flat section departing from Xeraco. As we progress, we will encounter the slopes of the Mondúver range and begin the ascent. Amidst the ascent, we will traverse the Peña Negra peak. At this point, the route intensifies, incorporating scrambling sections (equipped with ropes for assistance). Ultimately, we will conquer the summit, unveiling breath-taking 360-degree vistas of the entire surrounding area, spanning from the Mediterranean on one side to the valleys around Xativa on the other. A well-deserved lunch break awaits at the summit. The descent follows a different path, leading us along rugged trails. Finally, we’ll have a refreshing drink on a terrace before our return to Valencia.
Difficulty: medium/hard (11km with 800m of elevation gain)
Technical level: medium/high (steep descent with some chains)
Meeting point: Mestalla, parking lot on av. Aragón, 9:30 (return to Valencia ~18:00)
Price: 35 euros (31 euros signing up before Friday, 12.01) / 14 euros coming to Xeraco.
