The ascent from Segart to Mirador el Garbí, commonly known as Cadenas del Garbí is one of the most exiting routes in Valencia. It requires some some scrambling with the help of chains, which are well worth it, as the views from the top are stunning.
We’ll meet in Valencia in the parking lot on av. Aragón in front of Mestalla stadium and drive to Segart. We’ll have a coffee on a terrace there and start the hike. First part of the ascent is along the trail through the ravine, which later turns steeper and that’s where the fun (chains) starts. After doing the chain section and contemplating the views, we’ll do a loop before arriving at Garbí lookout point. Here we will stop for a lunch. The descent is along a different trail, taking us back to Segart. We will have a drink on a terrace after the hike and return to Valencia.
Difficulty: medium (9km with 450m elevation gain)
Technical level: medium/high (scrambling with the help of chains)
Meeting point: Mestalla, entrance on av. Aragón, 9:30 (return to Valencia ~17:00)
