Hiking in the Mijares River valley around Olba offers a delightful mix of gentle trails, riverside scenery, and refreshing swimming spots. Starting from the town of Olba you can explore easy hiking routes which traverse the lush valley adjacent to the river with just moderate ascents and descents. Along the way you’ll walk through olive groves, riparian vegetation, and small hamlets like La Tosca or Los Giles while the river accompanies you, winding through fields and cliffs. When temperatures rise, the Mijares around Olba reveals inviting natural pools—such as La Rasclosa, Los Pertegaces, or Pozo de las Palomas—where you can cool off in crystalline water, sometimes jumping from smooth rocks into deeper sections. The combination of scenic walking and riverside bathing makes this a truly relaxing and memorable outing in Aragón’s Alto Mijares.
